Au naturel… au contraire!
The search for the Holy Grail is one of the most energetic treasure hunts ever witnessed by the human civilization. It is also the most highly romanticized hunts ever done because countless people from different backgrounds, intentions, and even eras have fallen under its lure and have dedicated their whole lives to finding this one cup. The cup is of course of mundane origin but it is supposedly enchanted and posses an unimaginable amount of benefits to the possessor.
In this day and age though, the Holy Grail is considered to be just a myth, and at most, it is just a very enchanting story. However, the evolving world, along with its people, seem to have resurrected a new search for the holy grail… The holy grail of weight loss, that is.
With over half of the population of America suffering from obesity, it is not hard to figure out why the market for weight loss products and services continue to boom. Beyond vanity, obesity is a grave threat. Being overweight puts one at the height of health risks that include, and are not limited to certain cancers and cardio vascular diseases.
Meanwhile, businesses continue to capitalize on the rising levels of obesity among individuals by coming up with what they claim is the definitive product or service that will eliminate obesity quickly and effortlessly, one after the other. There seems to be a new “revolutionary” weight loss product or service that props up every so often, only to be lost in a deluge of other failed claims, broken dreams, and the latest “miraculous” product.
Despite repeated failure to achieve desired results, consumers continue to fall for hard sell marketing employed by these companies to promote and sell their products. Does this mean though that the market is not learning? Will consumers continue to harbor misconceptions about weight loss, trying one product after another that offers a super convenient way to shed off pounds? Perhaps there is nothing more to lose after repeated failure and anyway, what’s the harm in trying…right?
Actually, there is a lot more to lose than excess pounds if one actually finds a product that successfully promotes natural rapid weight loss. The whole concept of natural rapid weight loss is a misnomer. There is nothing natural about rapid weight loss. One may experience rapid weight loss in relation to a disease, but then again, there is nothing natural about that.
Furthermore, natural rapid weight loss, as promoted by some products or services, is actually a naturally rapid way to lose one’s health. Rapid swings in one’s weight is actually very harmful to one’s heart and will surely make one a ripe candidate for cardiovascular disease.
Rapid weight loss, even by products that claim to be natural and safe, is totally unhealthy and at the very least, unsustainable. Natural rapid weight loss is achieved by suppressing appetite resulting in lower calorie intake. This in turn results in loss of mass or weight that is not necessarily fat tissue. The sad truth is that in natural rapid weight lost, muscle tissues are lost more rapidly than fat tissue. It is in the loss of muscle that causes this process to be unsustainable because metabolic rate is directly proportional to our body’s muscle vs. fat content.
In the end, if one does achieve one’s desired weight through natural rapid weigh loss, it will be even easier to gain excess weight back. With natural rapid weight loss, you’ll be lucky if you just go back to the weight you started with before starting to shed off the pounds. In most cases, one can end up in much worse shape than when one started.
